DZIGBORDI DOSOO, ALLURE AFRICA CEO WINS THE 2009 CIMG MARKETING WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD.
Dzigbordi K. Dosoo, Founder & CEO of Allure
Africa has been named the 2009 CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year.
Dosoo won the prestigious award in recognition of her excellence in
strategic marketing in the areas of market insights, marketing
strategy and development, managing corporate reputation right down
to managing her marketing teams for the year 2009.
“It truly is a great honour to win this award. It is further
recognition of all the hard work and dedication that has gone into
building the Allure Africa brands over the last 12 years. None of
this would have been possible without the fantastic Allure team, our
clients and our partners who breathe life into the brand. This is
yet another milestone in our journey. A milestone which tells us
there is still yet more to achieve. For us, like our corporate lilac
butterfly, we will continue to evolve and the sky is not even the
limit.” Commented Dosoo.
Started by Dosoo in 1998 as a two person salon in a living room in
Osu, Allure Africa has today spread it wings over the African
wellness and beauty industry. Dosoo’s quest to offer global
standards has made Allure Africa a pioneer in building the wellness
and spa concept. Allure Africa has carved a niche, successfully
waded into unchartered territory and been at the forefront of
evolving their industry from a focus on hair and beauty services and
now internationally acclaimed wellness treatments.
Allure Africa’s first subsidiary, Allure Ghana Limited, owns and
manages Allure Spa in the City, West Africa’s first 5 star day spa
and Allureman, it’s professional male grooming service. The second
subsidiary, Allure Sales & Distribution Company is the West African
representative for 16 international spa & beauty product brands
including it’s own skin and body care range, Kanshi. Launched in
February 2010, Kanshi retails in Africa and also recently the US. It
also organizes Iyaba, Africa’s premier spa & beauty trade exhibition
and conference, the first of it’s kind in Africa.
As an Entrepreneur, Dosoo is passionate about raising the standards
in the wellness and beauty industry in Africa to reach global
standards of excellence. This focus drove her to lead her team to
successfully launch Iyaba, to create a platform of training,
education and networking for spa and beauty businesses which are
playing a major but unrecognized role in SME development in Africa.
Through Iyaba over 2000 West African spa & beauty professionals have
received training.
Dosoo is a graduate of Virginia State University with a degree in
Finance. She also holds various spa management qualifications,

beauty into a pioneer in Africa.
Dosoo, who was the first Ghanaian to attend the invitation only
Global Spa Summit, has also been a Co-host of the Summit. The Summit
which is modeled on the World Economic Forum attracts top-level
executives in diverse fields with interest in the spa and wellness
industry from all over the world.
For this work, and many other firsts, Dosoo has been featured in top
spa industry magazines such as Spa Business Magazine and Pulse
Magazine from the International Spa Association among others.
